This started because of a rant at a Malaysian restaurant in Farringdon. We were frustrated that Asian-heritage people weren’t doing more to support each other. We thought someone should do something about it. Why shouldn’t that someone be us?
Bae originally stood for British Asian Entrepreneur. Our focus is on Asian-heritage startup founders in the UK but there’s no colour chart to get into our events. We believe in bridges not walls.
We felt so many Asian community orgs were formal and Bae’s double meaning gives us a chance to have some fun. And we’re constantly finding new ways to support our community before anyone else.
Our mission is to support Asian-heritage founders early, and to support them far enough that some of them will scale to the billions.
Our vision is that no bae feels disadvantaged because of their background.
