Emergent

Emergent is an AI-powered app creation platform that enables non-technical users to build production-ready, full-stack applications from natural language descriptions alone. Founded in 2024 by twin brothers Mukund Jha and Madhav Jha, the company was built on the conviction that the cost and complexity of software creation has historically locked out the vast majority of people with genuine ideas — and that AI agents were finally capable of closing that gap.
The problem Emergent addresses is structural: building a production-grade application has traditionally required a team of engineers, months of development, and budgets that exclude most small businesses, solo founders, and non-technical creators. Emergent's platform deploys a system of specialised AI agents that handle the full development stack — frontend, backend, database integration, authentication, payments, and deployment — in response to plain-language instructions. The result is not a prototype or wireframe, but working, deployable software integrated with services like Stripe from day one.
The platform's growth has been exceptional by any measure. Emergent launched in mid-2024 and reached over five million users across more than 190 countries within seven months, crossing £40 million in annualised recurring revenue. Revenue expanded from £100,000 to £50 million ARR in seven months, and the company reported £100 million ARR by early 2026 — making it one of the fastest-growing SaaS companies ever recorded. Customers range from developers building complex AI applications to first-time founders and small business owners building their initial digital products.
Emergent raised £50 million in Series B funding in January 2026, co-led by Khosla Ventures and SoftBank Vision Fund 2, with participation from Prosus, Lightspeed, Together, and Y Combinator. The round valued the company at approximately $300 million and tripled its valuation from the Series A just three months earlier. The funding will support continued hiring, product development, and global expansion as the platform extends beyond early adopters into more complex use cases for small businesses and entrepreneurs worldwide.
