ETFuels
.avif)
ETFuels is a UK-based clean-fuels developer building modular plants that convert renewable electricity and CO2 into green methanol — a drop-in fuel for shipping and aviation that can be used in existing engines and infrastructure.
The company's approach pairs co-located solar generation with hydrogen electrolysis and methanol synthesis at gigawatt scale, in geographies with strong solar resources. The model targets unit economics that compete with conventional shipping fuels rather than relying on long-term subsidy stacks.
Founded in 2022, ETFuels has secured early backing from energy-transition investors and is developing flagship sites in Spain and the United States. The company is one of a small group of European e-fuel developers moving from pilot to commercial scale.
