Gaia is a London-based fertility fintech company that has built the world's first IVF insurance product, using predictive technology to make fertility treatment financially accessible to far more people. Founded in 2019 by Nader AlSalim following his own deeply personal IVF journey — four failed cycles, three clinics, two countries, and over £50,000 spent — the company's core mission is to ensure that anyone who wants a family can try, without financial uncertainty forcing them to abandon treatment.

Gaia's predictive platform analyses a dataset of over one million IVF records to generate personalised predictions of treatment success for each individual patient. This enables the company to offer tailored insurance and payment plans: those who do not achieve a live birth pay a fraction of treatment costs, while those who do have a baby spread repayments into manageable monthly instalments. The result is a model that transfers financial risk away from patients and dramatically reduces the upfront cost barrier that causes three in four people to never start treatment.

Gaia raised $20 million in a Series A led by Atomico in 2022, bringing total funding to $23 million, with Kindred Capital, Seedcamp, and Clocktower Technology Ventures also backing the company. By 2024, Gaia members were welcoming a new baby every six days, and the company is actively expanding into the US market.
