Hammer Missions is a London-based AI software company that is transforming how built structures are inspected and maintained. Founded in 2019 by Varun Sarwal, it provides an end-to-end drone inspection platform that automates the entire workflow from flight planning and data capture through to AI-powered defect detection, 3D modelling and structured reporting. By removing the need for rope access, scaffold or manual site surveys, Hammer Missions dramatically reduces the cost, risk and time involved in assessing buildings, infrastructure and industrial assets.

The platform is designed for use across architecture, engineering and construction sectors, supporting applications including roof and facade investigations, thermal forensics, solar panel inspections, tower mapping and post-construction surveys. Its AI modules — Hamlet and Spector — analyse drone-captured imagery to detect faults, defects and anomalies in three-dimensional models, enabling building owners and facility managers to make informed, pre-emptive maintenance decisions rather than reacting to failures. The system supports a wide range of DJI drone hardware and is compatible with enterprise UAV programmes at scale.

Hammer Missions has been used in over 20,000 drone flights across more than 5,000 projects, with major clients including US-based AEC firms Thornton Thomasetti and SGH. In April 2025, the company raised £1.4 million in funding led by ACF Investors, with participation from GeoSLAM founder Graham Hunter and former Atkins energy CEO Martin Grant. The capital is accelerating AI development and funding strategic expansion into the North American market, where demand for compliant building inspection technology continues to grow.
