PHINXT Robotics
.avif)
PHINXT Robotics is a London-based AI-led robotics software company founded in 2022 to solve a persistent challenge in warehouse automation: the prohibitive cost and complexity of deploying autonomous robots. Traditional warehouse robotics typically requires set-up costs exceeding £500,000 and specialist on-site expertise — barriers that have left over 90% of warehouses globally operating entirely manually. PHINXT's decentralised edge AI platform enables warehouses of any size to deploy autonomous robots on a flexible monthly subscription model, with no robotics expertise required.
The company's proprietary technology coordinates multiple robot types at the edge — meaning locally, without dependency on a central server — using an algorithm developed by co-founder Yanwen Chen that allows robots to self-orchestrate safely even when network connectivity is lost. The cloud-based platform simplifies robotic deployment by a factor of ten compared to conventional approaches, supports a wide range of autonomous mobile robot types, and is designed to integrate seamlessly into existing warehouse operations. PHINXT has also been recognised as one of Europe's most innovative female-led AI startups by the Google Cloud-backed Female Foundry Visionaries AI Incubator.
In 2024, PHINXT raised £2 million in an oversubscribed seed round led by Sure Valley Ventures, with participation from Ada Ventures, Heartfelt, and Atlas Ventures. The company is actively deploying over 300 robots across its customer base and expanding into mainland Europe, with a longer-term vision to extend its edge computing technology to delivery drones and autonomous vehicles.
