Rentr

Rentr is a Leamington Spa-based AI-driven property technology company building an integrated mobile platform for the UK residential rental market. The platform serves both landlords and tenants from a single connected application — enabling landlords to list properties, manage applications, generate tenancy agreements, conduct referencing, and track maintenance, while giving tenants the tools to find, apply for, and manage their tenancy without the fragmentation that currently characterises the rental process.
Founder Vik Tara identified the opportunity after more than 30 years working across the property rental industry and as a landlord himself, witnessing the chronic underinvestment in technology that leaves both sides of the rental relationship dependent on multiple disconnected portals, spreadsheets, and manual processes. Rentr's predecessor company, Technology Blueprint (TBL), built PropCo — the market-leading property management software used by Countrywide and other major UK agency groups — before being acquired by Volaris Group, a subsidiary of Constellation Software.
Rentr takes a mobile-first, AI-enhanced approach designed for the generation of landlords and tenants whose expectations for digital product quality have been shaped by consumer apps. The platform connects discovery, application, referencing, contract management, and ongoing tenancy management in a single product, reducing administrative overhead for landlords and friction for tenants applying across multiple portals.
The company raised £1.6 million in seed funding from VMS Ventures, itself a £200 million initiative by Constellation Software, marking the second time Constellation has backed a Vik Tara venture. The funding is being deployed to develop the platform's AI capabilities, build integrations with major property portals, and scale the user base in target markets.
