WestCap is a New York-headquartered growth equity firm investing in tech-enabled marketplaces, fintech and software businesses. The firm was founded by Laurence Tosi, the former CFO of Airbnb and Blackstone, and operates around $2.25 billion in assets across multiple funds with what it terms a "lifecycle" investment approach — flexible capital that can compound across stages of a company's growth.
The firm differentiates on operational support rather than capital alone. Its Strategic Operators Group and in-house creative studio, CōLab, work with portfolio companies on go-to-market, brand, and U.S. expansion. The London office, opened in 2022, has become its base for European coverage.
WestCap's portfolio includes Preply, Stripe, Ramp, Hopper and Klarna, with cheque sizes ranging from approximately $100K to $5M for smaller positions and substantially larger lead investments at growth stage. Recent activity includes leading a $150 million Series D into Preply.
