Abetharan Antony is a plasma physicist trained at UCL and Imperial College London. He took a first in physics at UCL, then an MSc at Imperial, where his thesis used neural networks to estimate hurricane intensity from satellite imagery.
After a year as a deep learning research assistant at the University of Sussex, he returned to Imperial for a PhD in plasma and high-temperature physics, studying how non-local heat transport shapes the radiation drive in inertial confinement fusion targets and writing simulation code to model it. In 2022 he joined General Fusion in Vancouver as a computational plasma physicist, building magnetohydrodynamic models and applying machine learning to the company's experimental diagnostic data.
In 2025 he co-founded Zenithon with Alex Higginbottom and serves as its CTO. The company builds machine learning models that stand in for slow physics simulations in fusion, hypersonics and semiconductor manufacturing, and in September 2026 it raised £7.5M in a seed round led by BACKED.
