Akash Mehta is the co-founder and CEO of Fable & Mane, the Ayurvedic-inspired hair wellness brand he launched in 2020 with his sister Nikita Mehta. The brand grew out of family memory — their grandmother's pre-wash oiling rituals and a household where Indian beauty traditions were a daily practice — and was deliberately built to occupy the white space the founders saw between the heritage Ayurvedic category and the prestige hair-care aisle.
Akash trained as an electrical and electronic engineer at Imperial College London, but spent the formative part of his career in beauty and luxury digital marketing. He held roles at Burberry, Estée Lauder's Aveda business and Procter & Gamble before joining Parfums Christian Dior, where he became one of the company's youngest-ever Global Digital Managers. Alongside Fable & Mane, he runs the digital agency CO-ANU and hosts the Founded Beauty podcast, in which he interviews founders of nine-figure beauty brands.
Fable & Mane debuted in Sephora out of the SOS Beauty incubator and now sells through Sephora, Cult Beauty, Boots and Selfridges across the US, UK and India. Its hero product, the HoliRoots pre-wash hair oil, accounts for the majority of revenue and has driven repeated viral moments on TikTok. Akash was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in media and marketing, sits on the board of LVMH-backed Patou as one of the conglomerate's youngest board members, and co-founded the Fable Fund, a wild tiger conservation initiative tied to the brand.
