Ankur Ghosh

Ankur Ghosh is a British Indian entrepreneur and the Founder and CEO of SSV Capital PLC and its fintech arm SSV SmartPay. With a family background in banking and deep expertise in asset management and private equity across UK and Indian markets, Ankur founded SSV Capital in 2020 with a vision to build disruptive technologies that combine financial innovation with a commitment to sustainability and social impact — what he calls the 'three Ps' of people, planet, and prosperity.

Under his leadership, SSV Capital developed SSV SmartPay, a QR code-based open banking payment platform that enables merchants to bypass traditional card networks like Visa and Mastercard, reducing transaction fees for businesses by up to 70%. The platform, which operates using the UK government's secure Faster Payments and Open Banking networks, launched publicly and has been growing its merchant base across the UK. Ankur has also received recognition from The Times Group in India for his work in fintech innovation.

In April 2025, SSV SmartPay raised £5 million at a £30 million valuation, with backing from prominent banking and fintech investors. Ankur continues to lead the company's expansion strategy, with ambitions to open markets in the US, Australia, and India, and to establish the platform as a leading alternative payments solution for businesses of all sizes.
