Baybars Umur is a Turkish entrepreneur and co-founder at Bolt Insight, the London-based AI-native market research company. He is one of the founding team members who helped shape Bolt Insight's early vision and go-to-market approach, bringing a background in technology and digital product development to the team from its inception.

Umur's career has spanned the intersection of technology and business, giving him practical experience in how digital products are built, scaled, and taken to market. His involvement in Bolt Insight's founding team contributed to the commercial and operational foundations that allowed the company to grow from an early-stage startup into a platform trusted by some of the world's largest consumer brands.

At Bolt Insight, Umur has been part of the team that has taken BoltChatAI — an AI-moderated qualitative research platform — to over five million consumer interviews across more than 90 markets. The platform is now used by 11 of the world's top 15 consumer packaged goods companies, and the company has built offices across London, Istanbul, Paris, New York, and Singapore.

In December 2025, Bolt Insight raised £7 million in a round led by Pembroke VCT, with Umur continuing as part of the founding team leading the company's next phase of growth. The funding supports the development of an AI Chief Insights Officer — an autonomous intelligence layer designed to answer brand questions in real time and commission fresh research automatically when needed.
