Devika Thapar is the co-founder and COO of Wilbe, a London-based platform that backs scientists and engineers building deep tech and life sciences companies from day zero. She co-founded the firm in 2019 with Ale Maiano to address the gap she saw between research labs and the venture ecosystem — capital, training, and now physical lab space.
Before Wilbe, Thapar spent over five years at IBM Watson, leading sales and business development for AI products across Europe, managing new product development, and serving as Chief of Staff in the New York headquarters. She started her career as a strategy consultant at Accenture.
Thapar holds an MBA from Yale School of Management, where she led the Entrepreneurship Club and worked with the university's tech transfer office on patent commercialisation. She also serves on the board of STEM from Dance, a New York non-profit supporting minority girls into STEM careers.
