Erkan Kaya is co-founder and CEO of ABEX, the London-based algorithmic trading platform bringing institutional-grade execution technology to digital asset markets. Of Turkish heritage, Erkan is a veteran of the traditional finance world, having spent his career building and scaling algorithmic trading and pricing engines at top-tier investment banks including JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley — institutions where best-execution standards and microsecond latency are non-negotiable.

He co-founded ABEX in 2022 with the conviction that crypto markets were approximately where traditional finance stood over twenty years ago: fragmented, inefficient, and ripe for the kind of quantitative execution discipline that transformed equities, FX, and commodities trading. ABEX's platform uses machine learning and an ultra-low-latency, high-frequency trading engine to provide hedge funds, OTC desks, prime brokers, and institutional traders with best-execution algorithms for digital assets — registered with the FCA for cryptoasset activities from day one.

In 2025, ABEX raised $6 million from MMC Ventures to scale its developer and research teams and expand its product offering into matched principal trading and derivatives. The company has since formed strategic partnerships with prime brokers including Hidden Road and LTP, establishing itself as a first-mover in institutional-grade algorithmic execution for digital assets.
