Faisal Ansari

Faisal Ansari is the co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer of Valent, the London-based AI company building tools to detect and counter disinformation and coordinated information threats. A British Muslim of South Asian heritage, Ansari holds a degree in Economics and History from the University of Manchester and built an early career in finance and strategy across investment banking, private equity, and corporate advisory roles.

Ansari’s professional background includes a senior position as Director at HSBC, where he led M&A activities in the chemicals sector, as well as Partner at System2 Capital Management, a private investment vehicle, and Chief Strategy Officer roles at The Single Origin Food Co. and other ventures. Across these roles, he developed a strong grounding in strategic financial analysis, commercial structuring, and the operating realities of both large institutions and early-stage businesses.

His path to Valent came through an interest in the growing commercial relevance of disinformation as an institutional risk — particularly for financial markets, where coordinated narrative manipulation poses direct threats to asset prices and market integrity. When he met Amil Khan — whose career had taken the opposite trajectory, from journalism and government advisory into the private sector — the two found shared conviction that the problem required a technology-first approach rather than the communications consultancy models that had defined the field to that point.

At Valent, Ansari leads strategy and commercial development, helping to position the company’s Ariadne AI platform for financial services clients and government customers. The company raised £1.1 million in January 2026, led by the Bayes Entrepreneurship Fund. Ansari brings to the business not only financial and strategic expertise but also a practical fascination with AI and emerging technology — having led the company’s internal AI adoption initiatives for non-technical staff.
