Lannan Jiang is a Chinese hardware engineer and co-founder of Tattvam AI, a London-based deep-tech company building AI systems to automate semiconductor chip design. Jiang brings hands-on chip design experience from a research laboratory at ETH Zurich, one of the world's leading technical universities, where he worked on developing high-performance semiconductors.

Jiang's background in chip research at ETH Zurich gave him direct exposure to the complexities of physical design — the stage at which a logical chip architecture is translated into a manufacturable layout. This process remains highly manual, iterative, and dependent on a small pool of experienced semiconductor engineers, a structural bottleneck that Jiang and co-founder Bragadeesh Suresh Babu set out to address when they founded Tattvam AI in 2025.

As co-founder of Tattvam AI, Jiang contributes core technical expertise in chip architecture and semiconductor design to the company's mission of building reasoning-based AI that understands circuits from first principles. The company's approach involves developing AI models that reason over the constraints, trade-offs, and interdependencies across the design hierarchy, augmenting existing EDA tools from Cadence and Synopsys rather than replacing them.

Tattvam AI raised £1.3 million in a pre-seed round in February 2026, led by Seedcamp, which noted that Jiang and Babu had already achieved significant technical milestones in chip design prior to the raise. The company plans to launch its first product in the months following the funding close, targeting semiconductor design teams seeking to compress development timelines from years to weeks.
