Mahmood Noorani is a British entrepreneur and financier of South Asian heritage who has lived in London since the age of six. He studied at the London School of Economics for both his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees before building a career in derivatives and macro investing — spending ten years as an options trader and then managing money at major hedge funds as a macro portfolio manager. The complexity of markets following the 2008 financial crisis convinced him that investors needed a more rigorous, data-driven framework to navigate a world of rising global interconnectedness and quantitative easing.

In 2014, Mahmood co-founded Quant Insight alongside Krishnan Sadasivam, applying adaptive machine learning to large volumes of macroeconomic data to build a platform that reveals which macro factors are driving any given security's price. The platform — known as Qi — provides institutional investors with high-probability trading signals, portfolio construction tools, and real-time risk transparency across equities, rates, FX, commodities, and credit.

As CEO, Mahmood has grown Quant Insight into a platform used by global asset managers, hedge funds, investment banks, and family offices. The company has partnered with Euronext and Symphony, raised $10 million in funding, and in 2025 secured a Series A from 7RIDGE's Ecosystem Impact Fund to accelerate global expansion of its Macro Factor Risk Models and Analytics platform.
