Mohsin Patel is the co-founder of Islamic Finance Guru (IFG), the UK’s leading platform for halal financial education and investment. Of South Asian Muslim heritage, Patel qualified as a solicitor in 2019 after working alongside his co-founder Ibrahim Khan for years to build IFG as a community resource while both maintained corporate careers. The pair had spent four years running the platform for free before committing to it full-time, a decision Patel has described as one of the most consequential and rewarding of his professional life.

Since co-founding IFG in 2015, Patel has been at the heart of building both its content platform and its commercial infrastructure. His legal background gave IFG credibility in navigating the complex intersection of Sharia compliance and UK financial regulation, while his passion for making Islamic finance accessible and practical has shaped the platform’s tone and product philosophy. He has since been based in Dubai, where he continues to develop IFG’s investment products and international strategy, with a particular focus on the growing demand for Sharia-compliant financial services across the Gulf and global diaspora markets.

Islamic Finance Guru’s mission — to bring Muslim communities worldwide to a level financial playing field — is one Patel has championed since the platform’s earliest days. The £3.8 million funding round that IFG secured marks a step-change in its capacity to deliver on that mission, moving from trusted media voice to the defining financial services destination for the estimated 1.8 billion Muslims globally who seek wealth-building pathways that honour their faith.
