Dr Someit Sidhu is a British-Asian physician-entrepreneur and co-founder of Pathios Therapeutics, the Oxford-based cancer immunotherapy company. He trained in medicine at the University of Oxford Medical School, completing his MBBS before working as a doctor in cardiology and general surgery at University Hospital Birmingham. He subsequently joined McKinsey & Company as a management consultant, where he advised major international pharmaceutical companies on R&D strategy and portfolio decision-making — an experience that gave him both the commercial framework and the sector-specific insight to move into biotech founding.

In 2017, Sidhu co-founded Pathios Therapeutics alongside Tom McCarthy, channelling his understanding of the pharmaceutical industry's unmet needs into a focused drug discovery programme targeting GPR65, a G protein-coupled receptor implicated in the acidic tumour microenvironment and believed to play a key role in allowing tumours to evade immune attack. He served as Chief Business Officer at Pathios, supporting the company through its Series A and into its Series B financing. In parallel, he co-founded Izana Bioscience in 2017, which focused on novel antibody therapies for inflammatory diseases.

Sidhu has gone on to become one of the UK's most prolific biotech serial founders. He founded Zura Bio, a NASDAQ-listed multi-asset clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on immune and inflammatory disorders, raising $160 million in connection with its public listing via SPAC in 2023. He has also co-founded Akaza Bioscience. His career reflects a distinctive model — physician training, management consulting, and serial company-building — that has made him an influential figure in the UK and international biotech ecosystems.
