William He

William He is a French-Chinese entrepreneur and co-founder of GoCanopy, whose career path took him from engineering through institutional real estate investment before returning to technology to build the infrastructure the industry was missing. He studied at École Centrale Paris, one of France’s most prestigious engineering schools, where he developed the technical foundations that would later shape his approach to building AI-first products.

After graduating, He spent more than seven years as a private equity real estate investor, with roles at Morgan Stanley and Davidson Kempner Capital Management. Working directly in institutional investment teams, he experienced firsthand the chronic data fragmentation that limited decision-making across the industry — deal intelligence scattered across inboxes, PDFs, and spreadsheets, with institutional memory disappearing every time a team member left.

That direct frustration became the founding insight for GoCanopy. He co-founded the company in 2023 alongside Yaswanth Kumar Pabbisetti, combining his real estate domain expertise with Pabbisetti’s enterprise software engineering background from Google. GoCanopy was accelerated by CentraleSupelec’s ‘21st’ impact programme before bootstrapping to commercial traction with institutional clients including Brookfield and certain Apollo-managed funds.

In January 2026, GoCanopy raised €2.1 million in seed funding led by ISAI, with backing from BNP Paribas Développement and prominent real estate angels. He serves as CEO, and his long-term ambition is to establish GoCanopy as the reference system of record for institutional real estate across the full investment lifecycle.
