Yuntian Fang

Yuntian Fang is a Chinese AI researcher and entrepreneur based in London, and a co-founder of Paddington Robotics — a startup tackling one of the fundamental challenges in making AI robots practical in everyday environments. Fang brings deep technical expertise in machine learning and AI systems to the team, contributing to the company's research and engineering foundations as it develops solutions designed for real-world deployment in human spaces.
Paddington Robotics was founded in 2024 by Fang alongside Dr. Zehan Wang and Johannes Totz, with an initial focus on solving the real-world data problem that has long constrained embodied AI — particularly in high-complexity environments such as retail. The company's platform specialises in the implementation of AI, robotics, software, and hardware solutions that bridge the gap between digital intelligence and physical-world operation.
The company raised £1.9 million in 2025 backed by 7percent Ventures and Octopus Ventures. With backing from investors who specialise in frontier technology and deep tech moonshots, Paddington Robotics is positioned as one of the UK's most ambitious early-stage robotics companies working at the intersection of AI and physical deployment.
