Altruistiq is a London-based climate tech SaaS company founded in January 2021 by Saif Hameed, built on the conviction that sustainability is, at its core, a data problem. The company addresses a fundamental flaw in how large enterprises measure their environmental impact: most rely on generic, high-level emission factors that produce inaccurate carbon footprints and leave organisations exposed to greenwashing claims. Altruistiq's platform instead processes raw operational data — drawn from a company's finance systems, supply chain records, and procurement data — to generate granular, traceable, activity-based measurements of actual emissions impact across Scope 1, 2, and 3.

The platform serves large, complex enterprises in the food, retail, FMCG, logistics, and fashion industries, enabling them to not just report on emissions but identify specific reduction opportunities across their value chains. UK recipe box company Gousto, for example, used Altruistiq to identify that sourcing tomatoes from Seville produced a lower carbon footprint than UK-sourced alternatives — the kind of ingredient-level insight that generic carbon accounting tools cannot deliver. Altruistiq's abatement engine goes deeper than traditional carbon accounting, helping companies build business cases for interventions and make supply chain decisions with measurable environmental impact.

In July 2022, Altruistiq raised £15 million in one of Europe's largest-ever tech seed rounds, led by Molten Ventures with participation from Norrsken VC and angel investors including Octopus Energy CEO Greg Jackson, Careem co-founder Mudassir Sheikha, and Atomico Investment Partner Siraj Khaliq. The funding established Altruistiq as one of the top 10 best-funded climate software companies globally at seed stage. The company has since achieved B Corp certification, appeared on the Norrsken Impact 100 list, and continues to grow its enterprise client base as regulatory pressure for accurate emissions reporting intensifies.
