Saif Hameed

Saif Hameed is a Pakistani-origin entrepreneur and the Founder and CEO of Altruistiq, a London-based climate tech SaaS company helping large enterprises with complex supply chains automate sustainability data measurement, management, and exchange. Born and raised in Pakistan, he co-founded a waste management non-profit while studying Law at UCL, which brought him to national prominence and led to a three-year stint as Special Advisor to the Government of Pakistan — leading initiatives across climate response, electric transport, and renewable energy. He then spent eight years at McKinsey & Company, rising to Associate Partner and becoming a leader in the firm's Sustainability Practice, where he advised Fortune 500 companies on sustainability strategy and transformation.
In January 2021, Hameed founded Altruistiq with a clear mission: to replace carbon accounting's reliance on generic emission factors with a genuinely accurate, traceable carbon abatement model grounded in granular operational data. Altruistiq's platform enables large enterprises in retail, food, FMCG, logistics, and fashion to process raw supply chain data and identify specific, measurable decarbonisation opportunities. Clients including UK recipe box company Gousto have used the platform to reduce carbon impact at the individual ingredient level. In July 2022, Altruistiq raised £15 million in one of Europe's largest-ever tech seed rounds, led by Molten Ventures with participation from Norrsken VC and angel investors including Octopus Energy's Greg Jackson and Careem co-founder Mudassir Sheikha.
Hameed is also co-founder of the Pakistan Environment Trust, the country's leading environmental charity, and has served as a speaker and panellist at major sustainability events including Stanford's Scaling Sustainability Innovation conference. Under his leadership, Altruistiq achieved B Corp certification with a score of 102.9 — well above the UK industry average — reflecting its commitment to setting a higher standard for both environmental impact and business practice.
