Arva AI
.avif)
Arva AI is a generative-AI platform that automates Know Your Business (KYB) and anti-money-laundering compliance for banks and fintechs. The product uses AI agents to handle the document reviews, web due diligence, fraud screening and customer back-and-forth that compliance analysts traditionally do by hand, with the company claiming to automate the bulk of low- and medium-risk reviews end-to-end.
The platform ingests fragmented data from corporate registries, websites, social profiles and submitted documents, and uses large language models and computer-vision tooling to turn that into structured risk assessments in seconds. Arva is built to slot into existing compliance stacks or replace them outright, and customers including Tola in the US and Keep in Canada have used it to cut onboarding times from days to seconds.
Founded in 2024 by Rhim Shah, formerly financial-crime product lead at Revolut Business, and Oli Wales, previously a lead product engineer at Opvia, Arva AI was part of Y Combinator's 2024 batch. The company has raised approximately $3.5 million across seed funding led by Gradient Ventures, Google's early-stage AI fund, with participation from Y Combinator, Amino Capital, Olive Tree Capital and fintech angels.
