Rhim Shah

Rhim Shah is co-founder and CEO of Arva AI, a generative-AI platform that automates Know Your Business (KYB) and anti-money-laundering checks for banks and fintechs. The company is part of Y Combinator's 2024 batch and has been backed by Gradient Ventures, Google's early-stage AI fund.
The idea for Arva came directly from Shah's previous role leading the financial-crime product team at Revolut Business, where he watched analysts spend tens of thousands of hours on the same repetitive document reviews. Before Revolut, he was a senior product manager at Jobandtalent on the US growth team and an Associate Product Manager intern at Google. He started his first company, the sustainability-focused student venture Carbon Codes, while studying engineering at Oxford; it later exited to VeganCard.
Shah co-founded Arva AI in 2024 with CTO Oli Wales, formerly lead product engineer at Opvia (YC S20). The company closed a $3 million seed round in January 2025 led by Gradient, with participation from Y Combinator, Amino Capital, Olive Tree Capital and a roster of fintech angels, and counts Tola and Keep among its early customers.
