Augmetec is a London-based legaltech company founded in 2022 to address the growing inefficiency, inconsistency, and cost of internal and regulatory investigations. Co-founded by Kritin Sundaram — a former Herbert Smith Freehills and Fieldfisher lawyer who personally conducted over 150 high-profile investigations — the company has built LEIAA, an AI-powered SaaS platform that serves as an end-to-end command centre for ethics, compliance, and regulatory investigation teams at law firms, corporations, and government bodies.

LEIAA automates the full lifecycle of an investigation — from matter inception and evidence gathering through witness interviews, document fraud detection, analytics, team collaboration, and final reporting — within a single, highly secure interface. The platform integrates directly with industry-standard tools including Relativity, iManage, and NetDocuments, holds ISO 27001 and SOC II security certifications, and supports teams spanning multiple jurisdictions. Its AI capabilities include automated report generation, document fraud detection, and advanced data query and analytics tools.

In February 2025 Augmetec raised over £2 million in seed funding led by Fuel Ventures, with co-investment from 14Peaks Capital and strategic angels including a retired senior partner at Kirkland & Ellis. The company is growing its engineering, compliance, and sales teams and expanding internationally to serve the rapidly growing global regulatory investigations market, driven by increased enforcement activity under legislation such as the UK Bribery Act and US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
