Bondio is a London-based connectivity platform founded in 2023, building the infrastructure that allows eSIM providers, IoT companies, and enterprises to access local mobile connectivity in over 200 countries through a single API integration. Rather than relying on traditional roaming — which is expensive, slower, and in some markets legally restricted — Bondio provisions local SIM connectivity, giving end-users a native network experience wherever they are in the world.

The problem Bondio addresses is structural. Mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) and travel eSIM platforms have proliferated rapidly, but virtually all of them resell roaming connectivity rather than local connectivity. This means higher costs for consumers, worse network performance, and growing compliance risk for operators as regulators in multiple jurisdictions begin to restrict permanent roaming. Bondio positions itself as the missing infrastructure layer between resellers and the local networks they need to access.

The platform provides a unified dashboard and API through which customers can provision eSIMs, manage local phone numbers, create custom data and voice plans, and scale globally — all with a single contract and integration. Bondio has built partnerships with over 1,000 carrier networks and supports 5G, 4G, voice, and IoT connectivity across its footprint, with pricing that decreases as traffic scales.

Bondio was built inside the Founders Factory venture studio in partnership with Deutsche Telekom and has raised £1.7 million to accelerate platform development and commercial partnerships. The company is backed by investors including Octopus Ventures, Haatch, and GO Ventures, and is positioned at the centre of a global MVNO market projected to reach $117 billion by 2028.
