Braid is a Dutch embedded connectivity company, founded in 2023 and headquartered in The Hague. It was previously known as Next Communications and adopted the Braid name when it announced its Series A in October 2026. The company targets a problem familiar to any brand that has tried to offer mobile data: doing so has meant becoming a telecom operator or negotiating with carriers one at a time.

Braid replaces that with a single API connecting to more than 600 carriers across over 200 countries. Enterprises can embed SIM and eSIM connectivity directly into their own apps, or launch a fully branded storefront without an engineering team. The company says a live trial takes about three minutes and a full mobile launch can take as little as a week. Unlike some rivals, it sells only to enterprises.

Braid serves about 90 enterprise customers across travel, fintech, clubs and communities, and telecoms. It says it is profitable with positive cash flow. The $38M Series A, led by Octopus Ventures with KPN Ventures participating, is its first outside capital and will fund international expansion, carrier network growth and infrastructure.
