Eight Roads is a global venture capital firm backed by Fidelity that invests in technology and healthcare companies from venture through growth stage. The firm has roots dating back to 1969 when it began as Fidelity Ventures, making it one of the longest-running corporate-backed venture investors, and operates from offices in London, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Mumbai, Tokyo, Boston, Stockholm and Hamilton.
The firm typically backs founders building category leaders in enterprise software, fintech and healthcare, with a stated preference for high-conviction, concentrated portfolios over volume. In healthcare it takes a patient-capital approach suited to long therapeutic development cycles. European investments include Duco, Juro, Mention Me, SenseOn, Tibber, Raft and Proximie.
Eight Roads manages around $11 billion in assets and has backed more than 600 companies, with over 60 IPOs to date. Recent activity includes leading rounds in Whatfix and Engrail Therapeutics, and the firm has produced exits including Bicara Therapeutics and Northern Arc Capital, both of which went public in 2024.
