Evaro is a Norwich-based digital health company founded in 2018 by Dr Thuria Wenbar, an emergency doctor and software developer, and her husband Dr Oskar Wendowski, a pharmacist researcher. The pair founded the company after observing that 25% of A&E consultations and 40% of GP appointments were being consumed by minor, routine health conditions — a vast and preventable burden on both patients and the health system.
Evaro operates as a pharmaceutical infrastructure-as-a-service (pharma IaaS) platform, enabling consumer brands and healthcare businesses to embed prescription medication services into their existing product lines with a single line of code. The platform handles the full patient journey — from AI-powered online consultations and clinician review to prescription issuance, dispensing from its own 12,000 sq ft warehouse pharmacy and aftercare. Evaro works with brands across sectors including sexual wellness, femtech, weight management, travel health and mental health, with notable clients including Lovehoney and the period-tracking app Patches. It is also an NHS pharmacy partner under the Pharmacy First scheme.
Since launching with just 18 treatments and 3 employees, Evaro has grown to serve over 600,000 patients and cover 400 medications across 80 conditions. The company raised a $1.5 million seed round and has returned to profitability. With plans to expand its catalogue to 2,000 treatments and continue its B2B platform partnerships, Evaro is positioning itself as the infrastructure layer for the fast-growing UK e-pharmacy market, valued at £5.6 billion.
