Dr Thuria Wenbar is a British-Sudanese emergency physician, software engineer, and entrepreneur who co-founded Evaro, the NHS-licensed healthcare-as-a-service platform that enables consumer brands, employers, and healthcare providers to embed regulated prescription and consultation services into their products. Her dual background as both a clinician and a developer is rare in the healthtech sector, and it gave her a precise view of where the gaps in access to healthcare were widest and most addressable through technology.

Wenbar studied Medicine at the University of East Anglia, qualifying as a doctor and going on to work in emergency medicine at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals and James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. During her clinical career she saw firsthand how emergency departments and general practices were being overwhelmed by appointments for conditions that could safely be managed through digital channels — a structural inefficiency she was uniquely placed to solve. She also served as CTO at e-surgery before founding Evaro, giving her direct experience of building regulated digital health infrastructure.

She co-founded Evaro in 2018 with Dr Oskar Wenbar, a pharmacist researcher, and has led the company as CEO ever since. Under her leadership, Evaro has secured simultaneous CQC, GPhC, and NHS licensing alongside seven active regulatory approvals — a combination that enables consumer brands to embed a full clinical pathway in as little as two weeks of technical integration. The platform has served more than two million patients across over 80 conditions, with a 4.5 Trustpilot rating and partners including period-tracking app Clue and sexual wellness retailer Lovehoney.

In January 2026, Evaro closed an £18.3 million Series A led by AlbionVC, with participation from Simplyhealth Ventures, Exceptional Ventures, Cornerstone VC, and BBI. Wenbar has been recognised as a speaker at the BAE HQ Accelerator and is a prominent voice in UK digital health, frequently cited as an example of what happens when deep clinical expertise and technical ability combine in a single founder.
