Future Planet Capital

Future Planet Capital is a London-based impact-led venture capital firm that invests in growth-stage companies emerging from the world's leading universities and research ecosystems. The firm was founded in 2015 by Douglas Hansen-Luke after two years researching how institutional capital could be channelled into university spinouts at scale.
FPC manages over $460M in assets and has deployed a further $200M through co-investment initiatives, with 160 portfolio companies across geographies and stages. Its mandate spans the UN Sustainable Development Goals — climate, health, education, security, and sustainable growth — and it has long managed deep-tech funds for the UK government, the British Business Bank, sovereign wealth funds, and local government pension schemes.
Notable investments include Vaccitech (now Barinthus Biotherapeutics, NASDAQ-listed), early backing of fusion company Tokamak Energy, and semiconductor scale-up Pragmatic. Over its 25-year track record across the founding partners' careers, FPC has been a founding investor in eight unicorns and exited more than 60 businesses.
