Jove

Jove is a London-based insurtech company on a mission to transform business insurance for contractors, consultants, freelancers, and small businesses operating in a globalised, digital-first economy. Founded by Amanda Cai, a former investment banker and serial entrepreneur, Jove addresses the long-standing fragmentation and inflexibility of traditional insurance products that have failed to keep pace with the rise of the flexible workforce.

The problem Jove solves is clear: millions of contractors and SMEs are either underinsured, over-burdened by administrative compliance requirements, or locked into rigid annual policies that do not reflect how they actually work. Jove identified that the distribution channel for contractor insurance was broken and that pricing lacked real-time, data-driven intelligence — particularly for workers operating across multiple jurisdictions.

Jove's core product is a subscription-based, borderless business insurance platform that integrates directly into HR systems, ATS platforms, and talent marketplaces through an embedded API module. Its AI-powered insurance validation tool automates contractor insurance verification at onboarding, ensuring compliance in real time. Partnerships with major insurers including Chubb and Accelerant underpin its product suite, which covers professional indemnity, employer's liability, and public liability with flexible monthly payment options and a pause feature for inactive periods.

Jove has established partnerships with global recruitment firms and MSPs including InterEx, Magnit, Remote, and Hays, as well as mobility platforms like Shiply. In December 2024, the company closed a £3.6 million seed round led by Explorer Investments, with backing from Seed X, Love Ventures, New Alpha Asset Management, Exceptional Ventures, and Start Ventures — building on early support from Fuel Ventures in 2021.
