MannyAI is a London-based fashiontech startup tackling one of the industry's most persistent problems: overproduction. Founded in 2023, the company targets the apparel and furniture manufacturing sectors, where demand mismatches lead to an estimated 40% of globally produced garments going unsold annually. Rather than pushing brands to buy expensive new machinery, MannyAI focuses on standard software — digitising and automating the paperwork, planning, and capacity management that already govern how factories operate.
The platform creates a digital replica of each factory, incorporating machine capabilities and staff rosters, to automatically plan production schedules, assign tasks based on skill levels, and adapt dynamically to real-time changes. Additional tools convert tech packs or sketches into full operation breakdowns with time and cost estimates within minutes, while a sourcing marketplace connects brands directly with vetted suppliers for on-demand, small-batch orders. The result is a test-and-reorder model that lets brands reduce total production volumes while making short runs commercially viable.
MannyAI raised £1.1m in pre-seed funding led by Dreamcraft Ventures, with participation from Alante Capital, Plug and Play EMEA, Carbon13, Ventures Together, and PDS Ventures. Innovate UK also contributed a £240,000 grant. With three European factories piloting the technology at launch, the company is scaling its model across the apparel and footwear sectors at a time of growing regulatory pressure on fashion's environmental footprint.
