NumberEight is a London-based behavioural intelligence company founded in 2016 that is solving one of advertising's most urgent challenges: how to deliver relevant, personalised advertising in a world of tightening privacy regulations and the deprecation of third-party cookies and persistent identifiers. The company was built on the insight that smartphones already contain rich contextual signals — from accelerometers and gyroscopes to ambient audio patterns — that can reveal how and where a user is engaging with their device, without ever knowing who they are.

NumberEight's on-device AI processes these anonymous sensor signals entirely on the user's smartphone, never sending personal data to the cloud, to produce ID-less audience intelligence. Publishers and advertising platforms use this data to curate audiences and target advertising with precision, achieving campaign performance comparable to cookie-based methods while remaining fully compliant with GDPR and global privacy legislation. The technology is deployed across audio, gaming, mobile and connected TV environments.

The company has raised multiple rounds including a €2 million seed led by Nauta Capital and a £2.1 million follow-on led by ACF Investors, with additional backing from Ascension Ventures and strategic angels from the mobile gaming and adtech sectors. NumberEight serves global clients including Southern Cross Austereo, Adverty and AdInMo, and has established a growing US presence. The company represented London's creative tech sector on a trade mission to India in 2024.
