Saarey

Saarey is a streaming service for South Asian classical music — Hindustani, Pakistani, qawwali, thumri, khayal and kafi — covering both established ustads and emerging artists. The platform is positioned around an audience of roughly 125 million listeners globally that has historically lacked a dedicated digital home for the genre.
The product is available on iOS, Android and the web as a subscription service, with a roadmap that extends beyond pure streaming. The company is building features for nazrana (appreciation payments to artists), concert and lesson bookings, and a wider creator-economy layer specific to classical music traditions.
Founded in 2019 and based in London, Saarey has secured grant funding from Innovate UK and counts Goodwater Capital — an early backer of Spotify, Meta and TikTok — among its seed investors. The company has been recognised on the UK Creative Industries Council's CreaTech Ones to Watch list and won the arts category at the Columbia Venture Competition.
