Snowflake Luxury Gelato is a British premium gelato brand founded in London in 2012 by Asad Khan and gelato chef Paolo Rivieccio. The company produces authentic Italian-style gelato using traditional hand-churning methods and a commitment to high-quality, traceable ingredients — including organic Jersey milk from Ivy House Farm in Somerset, hand-picked seasonal British fruit, and Italian-grown nuts. Snowflake operates a network of boutique retail locations across London and offers wholesale products to restaurants, hotels, café chains, and foodservice operators.

Snowflake's founding premise was that London, with its increasingly sophisticated food culture and appetite for premium, artisan products, lacked a gelato brand that could match the quality available in Italy while sourcing ingredients with the same care that British consumers increasingly expect from premium food producers. The answer was a brand rooted in Italian craft — slower churning, higher milk density, more intense natural flavours — but built around British provenance for its dairy and fruit, creating a product that is both authentically Italian in method and distinctly British in ingredient sourcing.

To date, Snowflake has won over 30 Great Taste Gold Stars from the Guild of Fine Food, including being named Supreme Champion in 2014 for its Raspberry Sorbetto — the UK's number one food product that year. The brand operates from prime retail locations including Bayswater, Soho, South Kensington, Marble Arch, Westfield, and the O2, and has expanded internationally into Saudi Arabia and through major travel retail partnerships including SSP at Jeddah Airport. Snowflake also offers a franchise model for qualified UK and international operators.

In 2024, the company raised £1.3 million to fund expansion of production capacity, new retail sites, and growth of its wholesale and foodservice distribution network. Snowflake is led by founder Asad Khan, whose vision of making handmade luxury gelato widely accessible has built one of the UK's most recognised independent premium dessert brands.
