TheFoodHak

FoodHak is a London-based food and health company building plant-based, clinically-informed ready meals delivered by subscription. The premise is "food as medicine" — using ingredient-level nutrition data to design dishes that target specific health goals such as inflammation, blood sugar and cholesterol. Meals are low-GI, gluten-free, dairy-free and free from refined sugars.

The company runs a proprietary AI tool that scans clinical research linking ingredients to disease outcomes, then uses those links to construct and personalise recipes — including via a generative AI recipe engine and a free personalised nutrition app. The product range covers chilled ready meals, an FMCG snack line, hospitality activations and digital tools.

Founded in 2022 by CEO Sakshi Chhabra Mittal, FoodHak raised an oversubscribed $5M round backed by Firstminute Capital, Urania Ventures, Holland & Barrett and angels including Rajeev Misra (SoftBank Vision Fund), Nikesh Arora (Palo Alto Networks), Jim Mellon and Mervyn Davies. In late 2024 it acquired UK meal-delivery brands The Pure Package and Balance Box from liquidation.
