XMOS is a Bristol-based semiconductor company on a mission to change the way systems are deployed on silicon. Founded in 2005 as a spin-out from the University of Bristol, the company has pioneered a new category of processor — the Generative System-on-Chip (GenSoC) — designed to handle the complex, real-time demands of AI, audio, IoT, and industrial applications from a single programmable device. At the core of its offering is the xcore processor, a highly deterministic multicore architecture that allows engineers to configure hardware behaviour entirely through software, collapsing multiple custom chips into one reprogrammable platform.

XMOS technology is embedded in products across professional audio, consumer electronics, automotive systems, and industrial automation. Its voice and audio processing capabilities in particular have made it a key supplier to global device manufacturers, powering far-field voice recognition, acoustic noise cancellation, and high-resolution audio playback. The company's XVF family of voice processors is used in smart speakers, conferencing hardware, and connected devices around the world.

XMOS has raised more than $96 million over its lifetime from investors including Amadeus Capital Partners, Molten Ventures, Harbert European Growth Capital, and the UK Future Fund. The company has filed over 37 patents and maintains operations across the UK, USA, China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
