Paloma Health Raises £2M to Reimagine Primary Care as a Digital, Patient-Centred Experience
June 21, 2024
Paloma Health, a UK health technology company, has raised £2 million from Heal Capital, Triple Point Ventures, and business angels to develop its software platform for digital, patient-centred primary care. The company is building the infrastructure layer that enables healthcare providers to deliver primary care services in a way that is organised around the patient's journey and needs rather than around the operational silos of the healthcare system — connecting consultations, referrals, test results, care plans, and follow-up into a coherent, digital-first experience that patients can navigate and understand.
The experience of navigating the NHS primary care system is characterised, for many patients, by fragmentation and opacity. A GP visit might generate a referral, a test request, a prescription, and a follow-up appointment, each of which sits in a different administrative system with a different contact mechanism and a different timeline. Patients are expected to track and coordinate these components themselves, often with limited visibility into what is happening at each stage. This fragmentation is not only frustrating — it is clinically consequential: patients who cannot navigate the system effectively are more likely to disengage from care, miss follow-up appointments, or delay seeking help when conditions worsen.
Paloma's software is designed to give both patients and clinicians a unified view of the patient's care journey, integrating the key touchpoints of primary care — appointment booking, clinical consultations, care plan documentation, test results, and care team communication — into a platform that is accessible and usable by patients without technical sophistication. For providers, the platform provides the operational infrastructure to deliver digital-first care without abandoning the continuity and comprehensiveness that distinguishes primary care from episodic urgent care.
Heal Capital is a Berlin-based healthcare-focused venture fund with a portfolio of digital health companies across Europe. Triple Point Ventures invests in UK technology companies with strong social impact potential. The funding will be used to develop the platform's core capabilities, build NHS and private primary care partnerships, and grow the team.
