Abhi Thanendran

Abhi Thanendran is a British-Canadian entrepreneur of South Asian heritage and the co-founder and CEO of Tilt, the London-based live commerce platform reimagining how Gen Z shoppers discover and buy fashion. He holds a Bachelor of Mathematics in Statistics, Finance, and Actuarial Science from the University of Waterloo and built his early career as a quantitative analyst at hedge funds in New York before moving into the technology sector.

Thanendran joined Revolut as one of its first thirty hires and became the company's first data scientist, going on to build and lead the data team as the neobank scaled from startup to global fintech powerhouse. It was at Revolut that he met Neil Shah, his future co-founder, and the two began discussing the untapped opportunity in live commerce for Western markets. In 2021 they launched Tilt, channelling the rapid-iteration culture of Revolut into a fashion-first live shopping app that combines real-time streams, auctions, and community features.

Under Thanendran's leadership as CEO, Tilt grew to more than half a million users within its first year and raised an $18 million Series A led by Balderton Capital in 2024. The platform ranks among the top shopping apps in the UK and is focused on becoming the leading destination for fashion commerce worldwide.
