Adam Umarji

Adam Umarji is a British entrepreneur of South Asian heritage who co-founded Dines App, a hospitality technology company building an all-in-one operating system for restaurants, bars, cafes, and events venues across the UK. A qualified chartered accountant with a background in financial due diligence and audit, Umarji brings the financial rigour and commercial discipline of a Big Four background to the operational and strategic challenges of building a technology business in a complex, high-churn sector.
Umarji trained as a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and built his early career at KPMG, where he worked first as a Senior Audit Associate in the US practice, managing audit fieldwork for industrial manufacturing clients, before moving to the Transaction Services team in London as an Assistant Manager focused on financial due diligence for B2C clients. This combination of deep financial analysis and M&A exposure gave him a precise understanding of how businesses are valued and what drives sustainable commercial performance.
In 2016, Umarji co-founded Dines App alongside Delawar Hussain, drawn by the clear opportunity to apply technology to a sector that was, by any measure, dramatically under-digitised relative to its operational complexity. As Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer, he has overseen the company's financial operations, commercial partnerships, and the build-out of its multi-city team structure. His financial background has been central to Dines' capital-efficient growth and its ability to maintain strong unit economics through multiple product pivots.
Umarji has helped lead Dines through its evolution from a mobile payments app to a comprehensive hospitality operating system, including integrations with Stripe Terminal, cloud-based kitchen management, and the launch of a meal donation model. The company raised $1.94 million from Forward Partners and other backers, and most recently secured £1.2 million to scale its platform and social impact programme further across UK hospitality.
