Akbar Ahsan

Akbar Ahsan is the co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Storfund, the London-headquartered fintech that pioneered immediate payment solutions for e-commerce marketplace sellers. A British-Pakistani entrepreneur with a career rooted in international finance, Akbar began his professional journey on the Barclays graduate scheme before spending over a decade in investment banking, advising clients across cross-border deals and capital markets. He later served as Head of Corporate Finance at QIB (UK) and became a Partner at Magellan Capital, a London boutique advisory firm.
In 2018, Akbar and childhood friend George Brintalos co-founded Storfund with a shared conviction: that marketplace sellers should be paid for their sales on the day they make them, not weeks later. Akbar spent the company's first year attending Amazon seller communities to understand their cash flow pain points first-hand, and used those insights to build a service that genuinely makes a difference to growing businesses.
Today, Storfund has advanced more than $2 billion to e-commerce businesses globally, is integrated with over 60 marketplaces including Amazon, TikTok Shop and Mirakl, and has been recognised on Sifted's list of the UK's fastest-growing tech companies. Akbar oversees all non-technical operations and is a visible advocate for the platform, regularly speaking at industry events and with academic institutions including Imperial College London.
