Dr Keith Tsui

Dr Keith Tsui is a Hong Kong-trained medical doctor and health technology entrepreneur based in the UK. He studied medicine in Hong Kong before moving to England, where he completed an MPhil in Bioscience Enterprise at the University of Cambridge. His clinical background was deepened by roles spanning management consultancy focused on NHS productivity, and a product management position at a remote patient monitoring company with partners including Apple and Tencent. These experiences placed him at the intersection of clinical practice, data, and digital product development.
The seed of Medwise.ai was planted during his time on the frontlines as a practising doctor, where he grew frustrated with how difficult it was to quickly retrieve accurate, evidence-based answers during consultations. Seventy percent of doctors rely on general-purpose search engines to find clinical information at the point of care — a practice Dr Tsui saw as deeply inadequate. In 2019, he co-founded Medwise.ai alongside Luis Ulloa to build a purpose-built AI search engine for clinicians: one that aggregates national guidelines, local pathways, and trusted clinical sources into a single, fast, customisable interface.
Under Dr Tsui’s leadership as CEO, Medwise.ai secured over £1 million in seed funding led by Finance Yorkshire, with participation from StartUp Health, CalmStorm VC, Deeptech Labs and SFC Capital. Independent evaluation showed the platform saves up to two and a half minutes per GP consultation, translating to potential NHS-wide productivity savings in the tens of millions. The company has won multiple Innovate UK grants, been accepted into the Mount Sinai Health System’s Elementa Labs programme, and attracted interest from healthcare systems in the UAE and the US.
