Dr Kian Dhinsa

Dr Kian Dhinsa is a British-Indian general dentist, entrepreneur, and co-founder of Toothfairy based in London. He graduated from King’s College London with a degree in Dentistry and trained clinically at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. His early career included managing an NHS dental practice in a high-needs area, where he looked after over 45,000 active patients and developed a deep understanding of the systemic pressures that prevent underserved communities from accessing consistent oral care.
In 2018, Dhinsa co-founded Toothfairy with Dr Deepak Aulak, with the shared conviction that technology could make dental care genuinely accessible to patients who were being failed by both the NHS and the private sector. He served as a Non-Executive Director at a dental management company from 2017 before committing fully to building Toothfairy, which went on to win App of the Year at the Dental Industry Awards and become the first dental app to receive formal CQC health regulation in the UK.
As a co-founder, Dhinsa has contributed clinical expertise, patient insight, and NHS network relationships that have shaped Toothfairy’s product and commercial strategy. The platform’s hybrid model — combining AI diagnostics, remote consultations, prescription management, and in-person referrals — reflects his view that digital dentistry should enhance clinical quality rather than replace it. The company’s partnership with Canada Life, reaching 2.8 million UK workers, demonstrated how employer benefits channels can be an effective route to preventive dental access at scale.
Toothfairy raised £7.3 million in an oversubscribed round led by LBO France in August 2025. Dhinsa continues to apply his frontline clinical perspective to shaping the company’s product development and its mission to make dental health a routine, accessible, and technology-supported part of everyday life in the UK.
