Hayyaan Ahmad

Hayyaan Ahmad is a Pakistani-British software engineer and entrepreneur with a background shaped by a family deeply immersed in finance. He studied Computer Science at the Lahore University of Management Sciences before building a career at the intersection of technology and financial services. Early in his career, Hayyaan joined Amazon in Berlin as one of its first tech hires, where he scaled the team to over 200 people and led engineering work on Amazon's tier-one shopping features worldwide. He also gained experience at JustWatch and the United Nations OCHA, alongside founding and working at several early-stage startups.
Alongside Pac O'Shea, Hayyaan co-founded Round Treasury in London in 2023 after identifying a critical gap: most startups were managing their finances across a fragmented stack of tools, with no unified platform offering institutional-grade treasury capabilities. Drawing on his engineering depth and his family's financial know-how, Hayyaan leads the product and technology side of Round, building AI-powered automation into the core of the platform.
Round secured $2.1 million in pre-seed funding in October 2024, led by Passion Capital — the firm behind Monzo and GoCardless — with participation from Tiny VC, Ascension, Samos Investments, Entrepreneur First, and a range of prominent fintech angel investors. The platform helps startups and CFOs earn yield on idle cash, aggregate all bank accounts in one view, and automate treasury workflows, earning up to 5% yield via money market funds while maintaining next-day liquidity.
