Imran Shafqat is a British-Pakistani software engineer and the Co-Founder and CTO of ThingTrax, a London-based smart manufacturing platform. With over 17 years of experience in cloud architecture and enterprise software development, he previously worked at Microsoft and built mission-critical systems for organisations including the National Bank of Kuwait, the UK Supreme Court, and Rolls-Royce.

In 2015, Imran co-founded ThingTrax alongside Aman Gupta, bringing his cloud and software expertise to the challenge of connecting legacy factory equipment to modern data infrastructure. Working from the Cisco and University College London IoT accelerator, the pair developed a plug-and-play IoT platform that can be installed by factory engineers within an hour, immediately providing real-time machine monitoring, computer vision, and AI-driven insights without requiring IT infrastructure overhaul.

As CTO, Imran leads the engineering team responsible for ThingTrax's core platform, which has since evolved into a full-stack vision AI solution deployed across food and beverage, automotive, FMCG, medical, and packaging manufacturers. The company has raised £4.3 million in pre-Series A funding and is backed by investors including SuperSeed, Concentric, and Puma Private Equity.
