ThingTrax is a London-based smart manufacturing platform founded in 2015 to help factories unlock operational efficiency through accessible, data-driven technology. Co-founders Aman Gupta and Imran Shafqat, both veterans of IBM and Microsoft, built ThingTrax to address a persistent gap in the market: most manufacturing operations run on legacy machines with no connectivity, meaning downtime, waste, and inefficiency go unmeasured and unaddressed. ThingTrax emerged from the Cisco and University College London IoT accelerator.

The platform connects factory machines, workers, and robotics using IoT sensors, computer vision, and AI — providing real-time visibility across the production floor without requiring expensive IT infrastructure. Its plug-and-play devices can be installed by factory engineers in under an hour, immediately delivering machine monitoring, performance dashboards, and AI-driven insights. The platform is particularly optimised for food and beverage manufacturers, and has proven energy savings of up to 20% in deployments.

ThingTrax has raised £4.3 million in a pre-Series A round backed by SuperSeed, Concentric, Puma Private Equity, and Vinci. The company is a preferred partner for Microsoft and an official Intel AI partner in the Edge Solution category, and serves clients across plastics, automotive, FMCG, medical, and packaging sectors worldwide.
