Martin Hao

Martin Hao studied Engineering at the University of Cambridge, where he joined forces with fellow students Quintus Liu and Jin Dai to tackle the problem of medication non-adherence in the UK. The three co-founders identified a gap between pharmacies' desire to support patients and the technology available to help them do so.
In 2015 Martin co-founded Healthera, contributing his engineering expertise to the early product and platform development. His background helped shape the technical foundations of what became the UK's most-used digital pharmacy service, enabling patients to order repeat prescriptions and book pharmacy services through a consumer-grade app.
Healthera has since grown to serve over one million patients across more than 1,700 pharmacies, processing over five million digital prescriptions in 2024. The company has received investment from Cambridge Enterprise, Accelerated Digital Ventures, NHS England, Innovate UK, and Committed Capital, and has integrated with major providers including the NHS Electronic Prescription Service and Uber.
