Meeta Gournay

Meeta Gournay is an Indian-origin entrepreneur and co-founder of Three Spirit, the London-born botanical drinks company that helped pioneer the functional non-alcoholic beverages category. With a background spanning the corporate and non-profit sectors, Gournay brought a passion for plant science, wellness, and conscious consumption to the founding of Three Spirit in 2018 alongside Tati Mercer and Dash Lilley. The trio united plant scientists, world-class bartenders, herbalists, and artists to create a brand that offers a genuine third way between drinking and not drinking.
Gournay's role at Three Spirit centred on building the brand's commercial presence and articulating its mission: that alcohol-free should not mean pleasure-free. She has been a prominent speaker in the sober-curious movement, participating in events and panels on the future of drinking, wellness culture, and conscious socialising. Three Spirit's award-winning product range — including the Livener, Social Elixir, and Nightcap — uses adaptogens, nootropics, and distillates to create genuinely functional drinks that affect mood and body, developed in partnership with plant scientists and UCL School of Pharmacy.
Three Spirit has grown into a globally recognised brand with a B Corp certification earned in 2022, reflecting its deep commitment to sustainability and ethical sourcing. The brand has won over 40 awards for flavour and function — including double gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and the IWSC No and Low Producer of the Year 2022 — and is stocked in leading bars, restaurants, and retailers internationally. In 2025 the company raised £3.6 million to accelerate global expansion, cementing its status as one of the defining brands of the alcohol-free revolution.
